Founder, Henderson Advising Leadership Consultant
Felicia A. Henderson is a leadership consultant with over 20 years of experience advising corporations, investment firms and their senior executives. Her current work focuses on working with founders, c-suite executives and board members of business and non-profit organizations. Felicia’s aspiration is to improve corporate governance practices by helping business leaders and their teams to identify personal and organizational values and to incorporate those values into their decision- making frameworks.
Felicia is an adjunct professor at Sciences Po where she has taught since 2011. She teaches undergraduate courses on corporate law and governance, comparative equality law and organizational behavior in Paris and in the Euro-American program in Reims. Felicia is also a lecturer on Leading Across Cultures in the IES Business and International Affairs program in Paris and a guest lecturer at EDHEC Business School.
Felicia began her career in the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, a prominent international law firm, where she worked as an associate in the corporate practice group. In New York, Felicia specialized in mergers and acquisitions, in particular leveraged buyouts, and also worked on capital markets transactions. Felicia transferred to the Paris office of Debevoise in 2001, where she continued to advise corporations and private equity funds in strategic transactions. She was named International Counsel to the firm in 2008.
Capitalizing on over a dozen years of corporate law practice experience, Felicia founded Henderson Advising to continue to work with business leaders on complex issues as an independent advisor. As an American national who has lived in France since 2001, Felicia is equally at ease working in English and French.
Felicia received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Duke University in 1994, with a double- major in French Studies and International Comparative Studies. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1997. She received a master’s degree, with distinction, in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD Business School in February 2017.
While at Harvard, Felicia served as Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Women’s Law Journal. Although she no longer actively practices law, Felicia remains a member of the bar of the State of New York.
Felicia has moderated or participated on panels covering various topics related to the legal profession,corporategovernanceanddiversity. Amongherpublicspeakingengagements, Felicia has given two TEDx talks entitled The Courage to Uncover our Differences (January 2015) and Teaching Compassion to the Over-privileged (April 2015).
Felicia gave an inspiring as well as awakening workshop about Female Leadership Challenges in Vienna in ottakreativ, Brandstätte/Stephansplatz in February 2018. to be continued…
